Passport and Visa Requirements

USA, Canada, UK, and EU passport holders do not need a Turks and Caicos visa.

Holders of a valid USA, Canada, or UK resident or tourist visa also do not need a Turks and Caicos visa.

Location

The Turks and Caicos is located in the tropical Atlantic Ocean, southeast of the Bahamas and north of the island of Hispaniola (Haiti and the Dominican Republic).

Flights

All scheduled international flights land at the Providenciales International Airport (PLS), with the exception of a Miami—South Caicos (XSC) flight via American Airlines. If you want to fly on to one of the smaller islands, you’ll have to take a domestic flight.

Drinking Age in Turks and Caicos

The drinking age in Turks and Caicos is 18 years old. Persons appearing younger may be asked for an ID at shops, grocery stores, restaurants, and bars.

Getting Around and Transportation

No Public Transport

There is no public bus or train transportation on any island in the Turks and Caicos.

Rental Cars and Driving

We generally recommend that most visitors rent a vehicle for at least part of their stay. If you’ll be renting a vehicle, see Driving in the Turks and Caicos Islands and Choosing a Rental Car or Vehicle.

Taxis

All of the main islands in the country have taxis. Rates are often high, and it may be hard to find a taxi on the smaller islands or at certain locations. It's often cheaper and easier to rent a car.

Uber and Lyft are not available in the Turks and Caicos.
