Turks and Caicos Hotels and Resorts

Rendering of Salterra Resort and Spa
A rendering of the new Salterra Resort and Spa, opening February 2025.

As one of the top vacation destinations in the Caribbean, the Turks and Caicos offers a number of incredible hotels and luxury resorts, and there’s a perfect property and ambiance for everyone. There are boutique hotels on secluded beaches and cays, opulent resorts with beautiful settings and décor, and several all-inclusive properties.

For those seeking a stay that has the service of a luxury resort yet desire more privacy and space, there are many upscale villas that are managed by a local resort or management company, and such properties may include a 24-hour butler and concierge service, housekeeping, and private chef services.

Our Islands

The Turks and Caicos has nine populated islands, split into two groups: the Turks Islands, and the Caicos Islands. The Turks Islands group has Grand Turk and Salt Cay, and the Caicos Islands archipelago includes Providenciales, North Caicos, Middle Caicos, South Caicos, and many smaller cays and uninhabited islands.

Providenciales is home to the world-famous Grace Bay Beach and is the main populated island. It has the largest selection of resorts, hotels, restaurants, and charter companies. South Caicos, a quaint and laid-back fishing island, offers two luxury resorts and a hotel. The island of Grand Turk is home to the nation’s capital of Cockburn Town and has several small hotels.

We have several boutique private cays that each have an exclusive hotel, including Pine Cay, Parrot Cay, and Ambergris Cay. These private island retreats offer seclusion in stunning environments. The resorts also manage standalone villas, for those who want their own house.

It’s easy to get to the Turks and Caicos from the United States, United Kingdom, and Canada, as we have direct flights from a number of major cities. All scheduled international flights to the Turks and Caicos land at the Providenciales International Airport, and domestic flights and ferries connect our islands. Traveling via local flight or ferry is quick, often with scenic trips of less the 30 minutes. Our islands are small, so once through the airport, it’s often less than a 10-minute drive to your hotel.

Our Incredible Beaches

The beach is of course a critical part of a Turks and Caicos vacation, and the good news is that we have many spectacular beaches to choose from. Grace Bay Beach is the best-known, and has some beautiful properties such as the Ritz-Carlton, Grace Bay Club, Point Grace, and Seven Stars. There’s Long Bay Beach, home to The Shore Club. Leeward Beach has upscale villas and Blue Haven Resort. The Bight Beach to the west of Grace Bay has Wymara and West Bay Club.

Seeking seclusion? Consider our less-developed islands. On South Caicos is Salterra Resort & Spa, opening for 2025 on beautiful Salterra Beach. Pine Cay and Parrot Cay, which have incredible north shore beaches, has the COMO Parrot Cay Resort and the Pine Cay Resort. The exclusive Amanyara on Providenciales is the sole hotel on the remote and beautiful Malcolm’s Road Beach on the island’s west coast.

All-Inclusive Resorts

For those who want to simply spend time at the beach or pool, an all-inclusive resort can be a great choice. There are several to choose from in the Turks and Caicos, from small boutique properties to expansive resorts. Dining and drinks are included, as are also a range of water sports.

Our all-inclusive options range from the expansive Beaches Turks and Caicos, which is a family-oriented property, to Club Med Turkoise, which is adult-only. We also have boutique hotels, such as the exclusive Ambergris Cay Resort and the Pine Cay Resort.

Family Resorts

Visiting with kids? The Turks and Caicos has some great hotels and resorts for families. Beaches Turks and Caicos has a small waterpark and lazy river, six swimming pools, family restaurants, and entertainment for all ages. Several of the upscale beachfront hotels have their own kid’s camps and game centers, and several properties work with local eco-tour companies that specialize in kid’s activities.

Budget Hotels

The Turks and Caicos is an expensive destination, yet there are many ways to save. Choosing one of the less expensive hotels can be a great way to bring down costs, while still providing a great travel experience. Many hotels in the Grace Bay area are within walking distance of a full complement of dining and shopping, so it may not be necessary to rent a car.

Dining Experiences

Several Turks and Caicos resorts have become culinary destinations, with a full range of gourmet onsite dining.

Notable examples include The Ritz-Carlton on Grace Bay, which has four dining options and three bars, the new Salterra Resort and Spa on South Caicos that will open for 2025 with six drink and dining venues, and the extensive Beaches Turks and Caicos, home to 21 restaurants and eateries.

Most hotels have at least one restaurant, and nearly all of our smaller properties are within easy walking distance of dining.

Hotel Amenities

All major Turks and Caicos hotels and resorts will typically have a range of amenities for their guests that includes free parking, a pool, and Wi-Fi, and major credit and debit cards are accepted. Many properties also have a 24-hour front desk, a fitness center, water sports and beach amenities, bicycles, and an onsite bar and restaurant. There’s often a taxi or two waiting near the lobby for those who require transportation.

Water Sports Amenities

The main attraction of the Turks and Caicos is our incredible marine environment and beaches. Kayaks, paddleboards, Hobie Cat sailboats, snorkel equipment, beach loungers, umbrellas or cabanas for shade, towels, and much more are typically provided for guest use at the beachfront resorts, with friendly staff ready to help.

The hotel concierge can arrange a number of activities, from a boat excursion, which is a must-do, to the ever-popular snorkeling tours, scuba diving, parasailing, horseback riding, ATV adventures, and much more. On Grace Bay Beach, charter boats will often pick up guests from the beach fronting their hotel! For some history and culture, there's the National Museum and Heritage Site, Cheshire Hall Plantation, and the Thursday Fish Fry.

Transportation and Rental Cars

For transportation, most visitors will be best served with their own rental car. There’s a great range of vehicles, from compact cars to fun upfitted jeeps. Cars usually can be picked up at the airport upon arrival, but may also be delivered to hotels.

For those who would rather not rent a car, it’s a good idea to choose a property that is within easy walking distance of dining and shopping, and central Grace Bay has some of the best options. On our respective hotel and resort pages, there’s the bird’s eye view, which gives detailed information on what is near a property and within walking distances. See what your prospective hotel looks like from the air, the neighborhood, and what is around it.

Frequently Asked Questions

When is the best time to visit the Turks and Caicos?
The best time to visit the Turks and Caicos Islands is during February, March, or April, which is when the weather is typically best. Booking a hotel during the tourism low season from early August to early November, however, can often get you better rates and significant discounts.
Which island should I stay on?
Providenciales is the most popular island to visit in the Turks and Caicos, due to the wide array of activities, services, restaurants, shopping, and amenities that tourists can access there. South Caicos and Grand Turk offer quieter stays ideally suited to divers and those looking to relax, while the boutique islands—Ambergris Cay, Parrot Cay, and Pine Cay—are best for truly remote, luxurious experiences.
Are there any hotels with good snorkeling reefs?
On Providenciales, Amanyara and the Windsong Resort have snorkeling right off the beach. The Windsong directly fronts The Bight Reef (Coral Gardens), while the nearby Wymara Resort is just a seven-minute beach walk away from the reef head.
How expensive is it to stay at a hotel on Providenciales?
Hotels on Providenciales can cost as little as $223 per night or as much as $2,385 per night. Note that prices are higher during the high season from December to April.
Is an all-inclusive resort in the Turks and Caicos worth it?
Staying at an all-inclusive resort can even out the cost of eating out and participating in non-motorized water sports, which are expensive activities in the Turks and Caicos Islands. Non-motorized water sports equipment is often offered for free to guests of the resort, and Beaches and Club Med include free scuba diving for guests.
Are there any hidden fees or taxes?
The Turks and Caicos Government charges a tourism tax of 12% on all tourist stays in the islands (with the exception of Beaches and Club Med, which charge 7.5%). Most hotels will also add on a 10% service charge that is essentially a tip for service staff of the resort or property.
Is tipping required?
Tips are not required at an all-inclusive resort. At other hotels and resorts, a 15% tip is standard and expected for service in the Turks and Caicos.

How to Get the Best Rates

To get the lowest rates on Turks and Caicos vacation and hotel stays, it’s typically best to do a little online research to obtain a general idea of the going price, and then contact the hotel directly to learn about what deals and packages they'll offer. You’ll generally receive the best price if you make the reservations directly with the hotel. Due to the much greater property selection, special hotel deals are more available on Providenciales than on our other islands. Villa rentals are similar, with much lower booking rates during the late summer and autumn months.

If you’d like to stay near Grace Bay Beach, great value options are had at the inland accommodations. These smaller hotels are often only a few minutes walk from the beach, yet prices can easily be half or a third the cost of a beachfront room.

The High Season and Low Season

When planning your vacation, be advised that there are high and low seasons, where prices can differ significantly. Rates are often at their highest between December and April. During the remainder of the year, Turks and Caicos hotels will often tempt guests with specials. The late summer hurricane season sees the fewest visitors, and will often have the lowest rates.

It’s definitely possible to get excellent last-minute deals, especially on air travel. Some of the airlines which fly from New York and other major cities have promotions with local hotels for last-minute weekend getaway deals, to fill seats.
