Wymara Resort is a beautiful property, with a level of design that's above the norm. The beach fronting the resort is the Bight Beach, and is beautiful and typically calm. Several restaurants located at nearby resorts are within walking distance, as are snorkeling reefs, however little else is. It's advisable to have a rental car if there's any desire to visit the other beaches, restaurants, shops, or attractions on the island.
5-star rating for Wymara Resort by Visit Turks and Caicos Islands
Wymara Resort in Turks and Caicos.
Wymara Resort, Turks and Caicos.

Wymara is a chic luxury resort located in central Providenciales at the tranquil Bight Beach. This modern beachfront resort features 91 rooms, including studios, suites, and penthouses, as well as a spa and two restaurants.

Wymara Villas is a counterpart to the resort, and is a small luxury villa enclave located at Turtle Tail on the southern coast of Providenciales. The villas are fully managed and overseen by the main resort.

Resort Location

This property is located in the Bight area of Providenciales, directly to the west of the central tourism region of Grace Bay. The resort is ideally situated on the excellent Bight Beach, and within easy walking distance of the beautiful Bight Reef snorkeling site. This retreat features a great beach, yet is also within easy walking access of several exquisite snorkeling reefs.

The Bight Beach and Grace Bay Beach are both found on the north coast of Providenciales and are adjacent to each other, yet they do differ a little. Grace Bay features a clean sandy ocean floor that continues from the shore for a long distance out, and water depth tends to be deeper as well. The Bight Beach is a bit more sheltered, and lush seagrass begins 50 feet (15 m) from the beach, and it’s possible to spot stingrays, eagle rays, and green turtles browsing through this tranquil underwater setting. Both beautiful coasts feature our signature soft white beach sand, and are part of the Princess Alexandra National Park.

Things to Do

Water sports at Wymara Resort in Turks and Caicos
Sailboats at Wymara Resort and the Bight Beach.

The resort features a selection of complimentary water sports equipment, including stand-up paddleboards, kayaks, Hobie Cat sailboats, and snorkel equipment.

The Bight Beach is perfect for a wide range of water sports. There are reefs that are great to explore by snorkeling or paddleboard, and the water’s calm enough for other activities as well.

Parasailing, tube wake rides, and boat charters can also be scheduled, with pick-up on the beach in front of the resort. A boat cruise or charter is one of our top recommended things to do, as it’s a great way to experience what makes the Turks and Caicos unique—our spectacular marine environment. Such excursions typically visit uninhabited cays, the iguanas at Half Moon Bay and Little Water Cay, and the pristine offshore snorkeling sites on the barrier reef.

When compared to other Caribbean destinations, the island of Providenciales stands out with its unrivaled collection of spectacular beaches, especially considering its limited size. There are so many great beaches to discover.

As the Bight Beach and Grace Bay are part of the Princess Alexandra National Park, jet ski use is prohibited in the waters fronting the resort.

Resort Amenities

In addition to the traditional resort pool and beach loungers, the resort offers a great range of complimentary amenities and services, including professional and friendly staff, full breakfast, Wi-Fi, a fitness center, a business center, and the use of bicycles. Private poolside lounge pods may be reserved. Free parking for guests is available onsite at the property, which is convenient if a car is rented.

Fine Dining

The resort features two dining options: Indigo and Blue Water Bistro. There’s both indoor and poolside dining, and the gourmet food options range from tropically inspired seafood dishes to international classics. Blue Water Bistro also offers a beach bar, complete with the exquisite backdrop of the ocean.

Spa

Also on site is the full-service Exhale Spa, as well as a concierge service that’s able to offer assistance with excursion and activity booking.

Nearby Points of Interest

This property is a little isolated from the central tourism, dining, and shopping district in Grace Bay, yet there are few options in the general area of the resort.

The adjacent resorts offer a few restaurants if you’re looking to try something new. If you’d like to visit these establishments, it’s typically easiest to simply walk up the beach.

There are two sites that may be within walking distance depending on your preference. Graceway IGA, the country’s largest grocery store, is a little less than a mile (1.28 km) away, and the retail and dining enclave of Turtle Cove Marina is found 1 mile (1.6 km) to the west.

Rental Cars and Exploring Providenciales

The beach at Wymara Resort
Wymara Resort is located at the beautiful Bight Beach in central Providenciales. Grace Bay is adjacent to the east, and within walking distance.

Unless your intention is to simply relax on the beach, we generally advise that visitors rent a car for the duration of their stay, as it’s the least expensive and most convenient way to get around to the beaches, sights, and attractions.

Reservations and Booking

It’s possible to book either directly with the resort, or with a third-party booking agent. Except for special vacation packages which include flights, you’ll typically get the best rates by working directly with the resort. If you find a lower rate online than what is advertised on the resort’s website, the local accommodation will often match it. Local accommodations are often happy to give extras to customers that book directly, so ask!

The Turks and Caicos, like many Caribbean destinations, sees predictable rises and falls in tourist arrivals according to the seasons. Rates during the late summer “low season” are typically much less than they are during the winter “high season”, and it’s possible to get some great deals on room and activity rates at certain times of the year. See Best Times to Visit.

Airport Transport

Wymara does not include complimentary airport transport, so it’ll be necessary to either rent a car or take a taxi. See Getting Around Providenciales and Driving Information.

Located in The Bight

The Bight is a residential community found inland between the Grace Bay and Turtle Cove areas. The settlement is historically one of the three original villages on Providenciales. Much of The Bight supports low-density residential development, yet small shops and an increasing number of vacation accommodations can also be found in the area.
