Pool and beach at Pine Cay
The Pine Cay resort is located on a spectacular and secluded beach.

The Pine Cay Resort is a unique private island resort on the tranquil Pine Cay. This 5-star Relais & Chateaux property offers a laid-back and Hemingwayesque atmosphere on a spectacular island—a truly rare experience.

Each room stay includes à la carte dining daily for two, including breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, and dinner. Drinks are not included.

The history of the Pine Cay Resort (formerly the Meridian Club) is quite interesting. Prior to the establishment of the Loyalist settlers in the Turks and Caicos in the latter 1700s, Pine Cay and the adjacent Parrot Cay served as lairs for pirates and privateers, mainly due to their freshwater pond resources. In the early days of the 1900s Pine Cay became one of the first destinations in the country to be a luxury retreat and planned community, when Countess Helen Czernin of Austria-Hungary pioneered the island’s foray into tourism.

The Accommodations

The room at the resort are spacious and comfortable.

The Pine Cay Resort offers several accommodation options, including beachfront rooms onsite at the resort, and managed villa rentals of some of the island’s residences.

All of the rooms at the resort are beachfront, and are available with a single king bed, or with two twin beds. A screened-in porch fronts each room, and has chairs and a table. Rooms have complimentary Wi-Fi, a safe, a mini fridge, and a small library.

The villa choices vary from one to four-bedroom houses, both on the beach and overlooking the secluded ponds or turquoise Caicos Banks. In addition to a more spacious accommodation, villas tend to offer a bit more seclusion.

Pine Cay Beach

The highlight of Pine Cay is the incredible beach that lines the island’s north coast. Although not as extensive as the world-famous Grace Bay Beach, the water and sand quality of the beach is unparalleled.

Due to the limited development and residences on Pine Cay, the island’s two-mile (3.4 km) beach is almost always deserted. Pine Cay is connected by a sandbar to the uninhabited and likewise exquisite Water Cay, which has miles of pristine coast to explore as well.
