An elegant fine dining patio overlooking the turquoise ocean in Turks and Caicos.
Vita restaurant offers alfresco dining from its breezy, covered terrace.

Housed in the five-star Rock House resort, this restaurant on the north shore of Providenciales serves Mediterranean fare and boasts a picturesque, elevated dining area.

Vita's big draw is its striking location. Perched 30 feet (9 m) above sea level near Blue Mountain (Provo’s highest point), the bohemian-style restaurant is built on a rugged limestone cliff that looks out onto an expansive turquoise horizon. At sunset, the best seat in the house is its curved terrazzo bar facing the sea and Rock House’s jetty.

The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and is a nice spot for drinks. It’s also a pretty good place to grab a coffee—Vita makes a variety of hot and cold espresso-based coffees like flat whites, cappuccinos, and iced lattes.

The Ambiance

This outdoor restaurant has ample seating in its covered and uncovered areas. The macramé umbrellas, exposed limestone, and ocean-facing view lend the restaurant’s dining area a distinctly Mediterranean look and feel. Despite being located next to the resort's main pool, the dining area is relatively quiet.

Reservations are recommended and can be made online or by phone. Guests of Rock House can order room service from Vita. The restaurant also delivers plates from its pool and beach menu to the shaded cabanas by the adjacent pool and expansive dock below the restaurant.

Vita's downstairs neighbor, Cave Bar, hosts two special nights per week—live musical acts play on Thursdays for dinner and on Saturday there's a DJ.

Breakfast and Lunch

Vita’s breakfast menu includes standard breakfast fare like granola, oats, any-style eggs, and omelets, as well as fancier breakfast plates like eggs Florentine and eggs Benedict. Their lunch menu is a mixture of salads, soups, and wood-fired pizzas and dishes. Local delicacies include the charcoal grilled tuna steak and the grilled swordfish puttanesca.

The Dinner Menu

Vita has a variety of surf and turf dishes, from Wagyu short rib rigatoni to pork roast porchetta and chargrilled octopus. All their pastas are homemade.

Several plates are family-style—you can purchase a whole roasted chicken or branzino (European sea bass) to share with your dining companions. If you’re in the mood for seafood, Vita serves a chili crab linguini and, during lobster season, a lemon spaghetti with Caribbean lobster.

Vita has its own vegetarian and vegan menu with about a dozen options that include dishes like spaghetti aglio olio, pasta and pesto Genovese, and eggplant parmesan.

The Cocktails

The cocktails here are named after hit pop and rock songs. The Uptown Funk, for example, is an Aperol Spritz with a tropical twist—home-made passion fruit liqueur. These cocktails are also available at Cave Bar.

The Wines

Vita has an extensive list of over 100 wines from around the world on their menu. Many are available by the glass. In addition to white wines, reds, rosés, and sparkling wines and champagnes, they also have several dessert wines.

Parking

Parking for Cave Bar and Vita restaurant is at the top of the property near Rock House’s entrance. From the parking lot, it’s a two-minute downhill walk to the resort's dining options.

Golf carts frequently pass along the path to pick up visitors and bring them down to the dining area. If you want to avoid the steep walk back up after dinner, it’s best to let reception know so they can have a cart collect you.
