If you’re looking for somewhere to grab a drink and watch the sunset, head to Cave Bar, one of the most picturesque lounges on Providenciales.

This bar at the five-star Rock House resort in Blue Mountain has panoramic views of the island’s north coast and serves a variety of tasty cocktails, shared plates, and pizzas. Reservations are typically not required, though the bar can get busy around sunset.

The Ambiance

With a terrace that looks like it was carved from the island’s limestone bedrock, this bar has a Mediterranean ambiance reminiscent of a Greek café on the Aegean. The stark white rocks, macramé umbrellas, plush seats, and soft uplighting make Cave Bar a popular Instagram location on Providenciales.

There’s a range of seating types, from high tables and café armchairs on the deck to loungers on Rock House’s wooden jetty. The jetty offers the best view of the sunset (and if you’re lucky, the odd turtle).

Cave Bar is a fun place to be on Saturdays, when they have a DJ playing in the evening, and on Thursdays, when it hosts live music performances.

The Food

Cave Bar shares a menu with the upstairs restaurant, Vita, but it also has its own selection of shared plates—such as the yellow fin tuna, half dozen oysters, and salmon crudo—and pizzas available for order. Note that the shared plates can be quite small, so you’ll want to order a few if you’re going there hungry.

The pizza menu includes staples like pizza margherita and pizza ai funghi as well as more adventurous pizzas, such as pizza con maiale arrosto (roast pork belly with smoked mozzarella, salsa verde, and pickled onion).

A great vegetarian choice is Cave Bar’s burrata, which features a creamy burrata cheese surrounded by slices of roasted butternut squash and pumpkin seeds, drizzled in an aged balsamic. The menu also has dairy-, nut-, lactose-, and gluten-free options.

Drinks and Cocktails

Like Vita, Cave Bar’s cocktails are named after popular songs, from the I Gotta Feeling (elderflower liquor, prosecco, and club soda) and Highway to Hell (tequila, chili vodka, and passion fruit) to the Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy, an old-fashioned made with local rum.

Lining the bar’s back counter is a large array of gins and several types of tonic. The bartenders can recommend the ideal pairing.

Vita and Cave Bar's wine collection contains over 100 wines from around the world. Many are available by the glass. In addition to white wines, reds, rosés, and sparkling wines and champagnes, they also have several dessert wines.

Parking

Parking for Cave Bar and Vita restaurant is at the top of the property near Rock House’s entrance. From the parking lot, it’s a two-minute downhill walk to the resort's dining options.

Golf carts frequently pass along the path to pick up visitors and bring them down to the dining area. If you want to avoid the steep walk back up after dinner, it’s best to let reception know so they can have a cart collect you.
