Providenciales Windsurfing

Originating in the 1960s, this water sport is still an excellent way to get out on the beautiful waters of the Turks and Caicos.
A few hotels and some villas on Providenciales provide complimentary windsurf equipment for guests to use, so inquire before booking if this is something you would like to do.
Rental and Lessons
Although it takes longer to learn the basics of windsurfing than some of the other water sports, technological advances in the board and sail design have made the sport easier to pick up. It typically requires a few hours to be able to practice on your own.
Locations
Grace Bay and Long Bay Beach are the most popular windsurfing spots on Providenciales. As long as there’s wind, adequate conditions can be found at one of these two locations, as they are on opposite sides of the island.
Grace Bay Beach is within a few thousand feet of a barrier reef and deep water, so wave riders may experience moderate swells at times.
See Beaches of Providenciales for information on accesses.
