Leeward Beach

The Leeward area is a beautiful place that’s excellent for water sports, as the eco-tour destinations of Mangrove Cay, Donna Cay, and Half Moon Bay are nearby, and attract kayakers and paddleboarders from across the island.
From Hawksbill Estate, the wetlands and cays are within access for proficient kayakers and paddleboarders. Care should be taken when paddling in the Leeward Going Through channel, due to boat traffic and currents. It’s advisable to wear personal flotation devices, and follow coasts closely when transiting near the primary channel. Occasionally, when swell conditions are just right, there’s a fun beach wave break, suitable for stand-up paddle surfing.
