Sail Beluga

Sail Beluga is a private boat charter company that offers custom and unique sailing trips aboard its Polynesian-style yacht, the Beluga, to the chain of idyllic cays between Providenciales and North Caicos. With the boat’s old-world look and feel, beautiful wooden deck, and cozy net trampoline, you’ll feel like an explorer riding the trade winds to distant lands.

The Beluga has spent 40 years scouting out the country’s best beaches, reefs, and hideaways. Captains Tim and Nik are experts on the Turks and Caicos Islands’ surrounding ocean and can recommend the best location or itinerary for what your group wants to do.

Given that the boat has a maximum capacity of 10 guests, Sail Beluga’s half-day and full-day private charters offer a more intimate experience than the larger sailing vessels. The Beluga is a popular choice for couples, honeymooners, and families who want to explore the cays, reefs, and sights off Providenciales at their own pace and in privacy.

Private Sailing Charters

The elegant Beluga on the turquoise waters of the Turks and Caicos

All of Sail Beluga’s charters are private and customizable trips that lean into the crew’s decades of local knowledge of the Turks and Caicos Islands. You can choose from half-day, full-day, or sunset boat tours. Sailing trips include wine, beer, refreshments, and snacks (and on day trips, complimentary snorkel gear).

Once you’re on the Beluga, it’s tough not to feel relaxed right away. The company's sailing excursions launch from a quiet and private dock in the Leeward area of Providenciales, where it’s common to spot green turtles in the calm turquoise water.

From there, the boat propels you through a picturesque channel lined with luxury villas to the open waters off the island’s northeast coast, where you can visit the beautiful sailing destinations of Little Water Cay, Half Moon Bay, Pine Cay, and Leeward Reef.

Half-Day Private Charter

Sail Beluga’s half-day private charters are offered as morning and afternoon sails. These private excursions are about four hours long and explore exceptional snorkeling reefs, visit secluded beaches and bays, and factor in time for a relaxing sail along the coast.

The morning private sail is best for families or couples who want to spend time searching for shells on uninhabited cays, enjoying pristine beaches, or snorkeling the coral reefs where turtles, stingrays, parrotfish, and an abundance of marine life dwell. Afternoon sails are more romantic, and include views of the island's magical sunsets that paint the water gorgeous shades of pink.

Drinks and a light snack are included on all half-day private tours aboard Beluga. Captain Tim always makes sure the boat’s cooler is stocked with his delicious rum punch, as well as water, soda, and chilled white wine. As for the food, the crew’s specialty is an appetizing charcuterie board topped with cured meats, grapes, artisanal cheese, and more.

Full-Day Private Charter

On a full-day sailing charter, you’ll get to spend as much time as you like at the destinations the Beluga often visits on half-day private boat tours. Full-day sails are typically between 6–8 hours long and include a delicious lunch you can enjoy at a location of your choosing.

When you book a charter aboard Beluga, the boat is yours for the day. You can visit the ever-shifting sandbars in the ocean off Fort George Cay, share the beach with Turks and Caicos rock iguanas on Little Water Cay, and (if you're lucky) meet the country's famous wild dolphin, JoJo.

Sunset Sail

Both the afternoon half-day sailing trips and full-day sailing trips include beautiful views of the sunset. If you'd rather skip the swimming and snorkeling, the Beluga offers a private sunset sail that's popular for romantic honeymoons and proposals.

The Beluga

The Beluga is a graceful and perfectly maintained Polynesian-style catamaran that was built by its current owner, Captain Tim, in 1982. It offers comfortable stability, yet is sleek and responsive.

Having sailed throughout the Caribbean and along North America's eastern seaboard, the Beluga is the sailing vessel to get you where you need to go comfortably and in style. It is equipped with a marine head (toilet), a sound system, and several cozy areas for lounging, including a spacious net trampoline at its bow that's great for sunbathing.
