Pumpkin Bluff Beach North Caicos

Found between Three Marys Cays and the Pumpkin Bluff coastal hill on North Caicos, Pumpkin Bluff Beach offers beautiful calm waters and a secluded atmosphere.
There are seagrass beds close off the beach along much of the coast, yet clean sandy spots can be found. Casuarina trees line much of this coastline and provide ample shade.
As is usually the case with the beaches on North Caicos and Middle Caicos, Pumpkin Bluff Beach is quiet and typically deserted.
Interesting beachcombing can be had among the casuarina trees, where fishing floats, bottles, and other flotsam can be found.
Snorkeling
Some tranquil snorkeling can be found in the lush seagrass beds off the beach. There are no significant reef systems, yet the seagrass environment supports and attracts many types of interesting sea creatures, including southern stingrays, eagle rays, queen conch, cushion starfish, triton’s trumpets, and queen helmet conchs.
What’s on the Barrier Reef?

A strange shape can be seen jutting above the barrier reef off of Hollywood Beach. This feature is the bow of the River Arc, the sole remaining piece of a freighter that mysteriously grounded itself on the reef in 1985. This vessel was likely used by international drug traffickers, who abandoned it.

Depending on your interests, consider visiting Three Marys Cays, and the birdwatching sites of Pumpkin Bluff Pond and Mud Hole Pond.
Beach Accesses

Access to Pumpkin Bluff Beach can be a little confusing due to the lack of road and directional signs. The beach can be accessed via the Sandy Point area, or from the east on the route that leads past Hollywood Beach and the old Prospect of Whitby hotel. It's typically easiest to navigate via the Hollywood Beach route. If you continue west down Whitby Highway (northwest of the T-junction with Kew Highway) the road becomes unpaved and you’ll pass a roundabout and the abandoned Prospect of Whitby hotel. Beach accesses can be found a short distance down this road after Pumpkin Bluff Pond is passed.
The roads leading to the Pumpkin Bluff area are unpaved. Conditions usually are viable for all rental vehicles unless heavy rains have been experienced.
