Regional Flights to the Turks and Caicos Islands
Several major airlines fly to Providenciales from cities in the United States, Canada, and the UK. For information on routes and flight times, see International Flights.
For direct service between the Turks and Caicos and other Caribbean and tropical Atlantic destinations, the only airlines that operate scheduled flights are Caicos Express, interCaribbean, and Bahamasair.
Providenciales International Airport (PLS) is the primary airport in the Turks and Caicos, and the only airport in the country that welcomes scheduled international flights. The Grand Turk JAGS McCartney International Airport (GDT) is an international airport, yet doesn’t host any international routes.
Domestic Flights
There are two Turks and Caicos airlines, Caicos Express and interCaribbean, which offer regularly secluded flights between our islands. The busiest route is between Providenciales and Grand Turk, and sees several flights per day. Our outer islands of South Caicos and Salt Cay see fewer flights, typically only a few flights per week.
The islands of North and Middle Caicos, Pine Cay, and Ambergris Cay do not have scheduled flights, so charter flights are the only option.
Flights from the Turks and Caicos to Other Caribbean Countries

The Turks and Caicos is actually a great hub for travel to several regional Caribbean countries, with direct flights to the Bahamas, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Jamaica, Cuba, Puerto Rico, and Antigua. Many of these cities have flights to other countries and cities, so it’s possible to get almost anywhere in the Caribbean with only a few hops.
Other than the two Turks and Caicos airlines, Bahamasair is the only other service provider that flies between Providenciales and other Caribbean countries, with direct flights to and from Lynden Pindling International Airport (NAS) at Nassau.
Day Trips and Overnight Vacations
For residents in the Turks and Caicos and those staying on extended visits, a great mini vacation can be a one or two-night stay in a nearby nation. Possible destinations only a direct flight away include the Dominican Republic, Cuba, Bahamas, Haiti, and Jamaica, with attractions that range from natural and historical sights, to great kiteboarding locations.
For those staying on Providenciales, some of the outer islands in the Turks and Caicos are well worth a visit, specifically Grand Turk, Salt Cay, and South Caicos.
Highlights abroad include the Cuban city of Havana with its Old World charm, Kingston in Jamaica, the Citadelle Laferrière in Haiti, the highest mountain of Pico Duarte (10,128 feet, or 3087 m) in the Dominican Republic, and the nightlife of San Juan in Puerto Rico.
Charter Flights
Caicos Express Airways, a Turks and Caicos airline, offers domestic and international charters, which can be convenient and cost-effective for larger groups. Flights can be arranged to any of the airports in the Turks and Caicos, and to many cities in the Caribbean.
Caicos Express operates several types of aircraft, including the Beechcraft 1900 and Cessna 402C, which collectively cater well to varying party sizes.
