You’ll never know exactly what you’ll see when paddling, yet it’s common to spot turtles, stingrays, conch, fish, juvenile sharks, upside-down jellyfish, crabs, and more. In the red mangroves that line the estuaries are green herons, tricolored herons, reddish egrets, and brown pelicans, and our unique Turks and Caicos rock iguana inhabits many of our cays.

Your knowledgeable guides will give an overview of the fascinating creatures you see, and what makes the Turks and Caicos marine environment so important.

Paddleboard and equipment rentals are also offered, and drop off and pick up is available for guests staying at villas and vacation rentals.

Jet Ski Adventures

Jet ski in Turks and Caicos
Jet ski tour with Mako Watersports.

The clear turquoise waters around Providenciales are spectacular for jet skiing, and words simply don’t do our marine environment justice. The archipelago surrounding the island of Providenciales includes the shallow Caicos Banks where the water and white sandy bottom is truly unbelievable, the tranquil and secluded beaches on the northern sides of the Caicos Cays, and beautiful sandbars and shallows in the channels between our islands.

Jet ski tours will appeal to most ages, as there’s a wide range of sights. Tours are guide led, and may visit beautiful uninhabited cays, breathtaking beaches, Sand Dollar Cove near Pine Cay, the famous La Famille Express freighter wreck, and so much more.

Mako Watersports operates new, safe, and responsive jet skis that are suitable for up to two passengers.

Wake Sports and Boat Charters

Mako Watersport's Scarab jet boat.

Mako Watersports operates a fun and fast Scarab purpose-built wake sports jet boat, which is exceptional for wakeboarding, wakesurfing, tubing, and subwinging, as well as cruising in the Caicos Cays. The platform at the stern of the boat makes it easier and safer for wake sports.

Boat charters are private and custom. There’s a great range of possible destinations to choose from, including the exquisite Caicos Cays and secluded beaches, snorkeling reefs, the La Famille Express shipwreck, the tranquil Half Moon Bay Lagoon, and the exciting cliffs and cave at West Harbour Bluff.

The Scarab wake boat is perfect for several tow water sports. Tubing is the easiest, requires no skills, is perfect for all ages, and the captain can tailor the ride to be as calm or wild as desired! The subwing offers a totally different experience, and is essentially a small wing towed behind the boat at slow speeds that a snorkeler can hang on to. By adjusting the cant of the wing, the snorkeler can dive and plane over the reef.

Wakeboarding and wakesurfing are a little more difficult to master than tubing and subwinging, but it’s a lot of fun to learn, especially on the incredible turquoise waters of the Turks and Caicos. Once the basics are picked, these wake sports are one of the most exciting activities you can do on the sheltered waters in the islands.
